Situated in Seattle's Rainier Valley, Seattle Urban Academy is a positive, alternative, Christian, educational community where at-risk high school students develop academic, social, and spiritual maturity to graduate to higher education and sustained employment.

Reflecting on the recent Miracle Event — held on May 6, 2010 — I am amazed at the vital community God has created at Seattle Urban Academy. Rich relationships built on principles of nurture and commitment are transforming our community one life at a time.

I watched with pride as two of our graduating seniors, Sarah Lemm and Emanwella Keny (both pictured to the left), spoke candidly—detailing their respective journeys from darkness to the bright futures that now await them. Sarah confidently shared of her anticipated graduation on June 18. She will become the first in her family to earn a high school diploma.
