Now accepting applications for the 2009-2010 second semester.
SUA is open to high school students:
- age 14 and older
- who have experienced academic failure in previous schools
- who want to work through their personal challenges, and take ownership of their academic, social and spiritual growth
- who desire to graduate from high school and transition to higher education and sustained employment
Students pay $175 prior to each quarter or $250 once a quarter has begun.
Cost per student is greater than $16,000 per year. However the majority of this cost is borne through community support.
Lunch is provided for all students. Bus tokens are made available to students who meet specific performance requirements.
A student at SUA is enrolled upon satisfactory completion of all of the following and approval from the Student Care Coordinator and Principal.
- Fill out the registration packet.
- Submit the registration packet, along with a copy of the student's transcripts and immunization records. While we can make requests directly to the student’s previous school(s) for information after their enrollment, it’s really helpful to have this information before the registration process is complete, so that we can schedule students into classes they most need right away.
- Pay the quarterly student fee.
- Make an appointment with the SUA Registrar for the Student Assessment Test, which takes approximately 2 hours.
- Set up student interview with the Student Care Coordinator for student background information. Contact the SUA Registrar for scheduling.
- Attend student and parent/guardian interview with Sharon Okamoto, Principal, to review SUA Policies and Procedures. Contact the SUA Registrar for scheduling.

We do not enroll new students for 4th Quarter.
